Workshop Description: During this workshop, you will learn why including individuals with special needs as volunteers makes sense. Through active discussion, illustrations, and real-life scenarios, workshop participants will learn creative tips and strategies for success-FULL and inclusive volunteerism. This workshop was developed for anyone who engages or manages volunteers at their organization. Facilitator: Karen Calzonetti is owner of CAPES - Creative Activity Programs and Empowered Solutions. Located in Guelph, CAPES is a direct delivery and consultancy service whose goal is to develop programs and activities for individuals with special needs, focusing on community inclusion and engagement, personal empowerment, and individual potential. A longtime disability advocate, Karen has been a disability specialist for over thirty years as a researcher, scholar and hands-on programmer. Date: Wednesday, March 20, 2013 Time: 9:00 am to 12:00 pm Location: St. Brigid’s Villa Ignatius Jesuit Centre 5420 Highway 6 North, Guelph Participant limit: 40 people Fee: $49 per person
