Your organization's productivity can be transformed with tools that can help you improve communication, sharing files and working from multiple sites. Learn more about how some of these tools are currently used in our organizations. Advanced technical knowledge or skills are not required; this workshop is best suited for managers of small- to medium-sized organizations without dedicated technical staff. This workshop will include a participative session where we will talk about the topics listed below, with examples demonstrating where each item can be applied in an organizational context using best practices. A follow-up clinic will bring the group back together again for a retrospective examination of how the technological change initiatives worked for each organization. Topics include: Connecting to work documents from home with VPN, Cloud storage, shared file storage with Sharepoint, Dropbox, Google Drive, Network Storage devices, Email: Cloud vs. server-based solutions with Webmail, Outlook/Exchange and others, and working with various mobile devices like BlackBerry, Android, iPhone. Facilitator Bio: Kevin McDermott MBA, PhD (Candidate) has worked in the high tech sector as an I.T. System Administrator, Software Developer, Entrepreneur, and in Business Development capacities. Kevin has implemented I.T.-related strategies in small to medium sized organizations and currently works in the community benefit sector.
